How long does it take for the airbag to inflate and deflate?
The airbag inflates instantly in less than 200 ms in the event of an impact. The airbag deflates completely between 5 and 7 minutes. If you unscrew and remove the cartridge, the airbag will deflate faster. You can also remove your airbag pants after a fall, but make sure you are in a secure area.
What is the lifespan of a carbon dioxide cartridge?
A non-triggered cartridge is guaranteed for 10 years. However, as a precaution, it’s necessary to weigh them once a year. To do this, unscrew the cartridge and check its weight. It must be replaced if the weight has dropped significantly or if you observe deteriorations.
How to check your airbag annually?
To ensure the proper functioning of your airbag, you must perform an annual check:
- Unscrew the CO2 cartridge and check its weight to ensure that the gas did not escape.
- Open the activation system (using an Allen key), clean the components with a cloth, check that there is no abnormal deterioration or rust.
Can you drive and move when the airbag is inflated?
Yes you can stand up and move, since your legs are free to move
